Cheongna City Tower

The principal objective of the design competition was to design an iconic 450-meter tall observatory tower for the new city of Cheongna, Korea, that would establish the presence of Cheongna as a world-class international business gateway to the Northeast Asian region and symbolize the image and objectives of the future city. As part of the universal goal of reducing energy consumption, the tower was designed to be in conformance with US LEED certification standards which included a sophisticated HVAC system, an automated controls system and energy-efficient lighting.
