Rizvi Architects
Peabody Essex Museum – Collections and Archives

Rizvi provided architectural services for the conversion of the Salem Armory building to a state-of-the-art storage facility that utilized specialized mechanical systems.

This turn-of-the-century building required extensive interventions, including the addition of a freight elevator. The renovations covered approximately 25,000 s.f. of the collections storage area and 4,500 s.f. of support space for preparation of exhibits. The storage facility redesign utilized new high density mobile storage systems for the museum’s collections.
