Rizvi Architects
Logan Intl. Airport - Terminal A - Delta and Satellite Concourse

Rizvi performed associate architect duties on a team led by Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum (HOK) for the design and construction administration of this new terminal, the world’s first airport terminal to be LEED-Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The overall budget for this project was approximately $400,000,000. We were architects-of-record for a major $50,000,000 connector tunnel between the landside processor building and an airside satellite terminal building. The two were separated by 600 feet.

We were also responsible for the vertical transportation nodes at the ends of the connector tunnel as well as the millwork for ticketing/check-in counters and boarding counters at the gates.

Our responsibilities included approximately 100,000 square feet of back-of-house areas for Delta in the terminal buildings, requiring close interaction between Massport and Delta Airlines. The programming for this private area contains: airline offices, lounges, airline operations, aircraft maintenance supply and storage areas, security offices, and baggage support functions.

Finally, we were responsible for preparing the demolition documents for the previous Terminal A building at the site.
